Jim's mother was Mary Elizabeth (Robbins) Riggs, born on 27 July 1838 in Franklin (near Nashville), Williamson County, Tennessee. She died at her home, the Riggs Home Ranch in the Riggs Settlement, Cochise County, Arizona on 05 February 1935 at age 96 years 6 months 9 days and is buried in the Riggs Family Cemetery.

Brannick and Mary were married on 10 July 10 1856 in Bastrop, Bastrop County, Texas and had eleven children. JIM was their sixth child, fourth son.

JIM and MARGARET "MAGGIE" were married on 15 May 1900 in Upper Sandusky, Wyandot County, Ohio. They had three children.

MAGGIE was born on 06 August 1876. in Upper Sandusky, Wyandot County, Ohio. She died in Willcox, Cochise County, Arizona on 19 October 1958 at age 82 years 2 months 13 days and is buried in the Riggs Family Cemetery.
