Eric's mother was Isla Pearl Chambers, born 29 December 1921 in Dragoon, Cochise County, Arizona. She died in Willcox, Cochise County, Arizona on 18 September 2007 at age 85 and is buried in the Riggs Family Cemetery. (2k)

Ellerbe and Isla were married on 15 June 1939 in Lordsburg, XXXX County, New Mexico and had three children. Eric was their second child, first son.
